SOFTC-2A STANDARDIZED OIL FILTER TEST CONTAMINANT

SOFTC-2A liquid filtration contaminant is prepared with respect to Federal Specification F-F-351c dated May 25, 1966, Amendment 3 dated January 15, 1974. Manufacture of this material is in accordance with paragraphs 4.4.4, 4.4.5, 6.4.1, 6.4.2, and 6.4.3. Material Safety Data Sheets may be obtained from PTI.

Ingredients as specified are as follows:
Carbon Black 16% by weight
Ferric Oxide 2% by weight
PV Resin 4% by weight
Straight Mineral Oil 78% by weight

*SOFTC-2A is also specified per SAE Oil Filter Test Procedure HS J806, June 1983. SAE HS J806 specification referenced Federal Specification F-F-351c formulation procedure.

SECOND CUT COTTON LINTERS

Cotton Linters are second cut linters removed from the cotton seed, and ground in a Wiley Mill fitted with a 4 mm screen. Cotton Linters tend to agglomerate or lump together, and may be difficult to separate individually.
